Current Information:Age-21 98, Redcliffe Gardens, West Brompton Rimboval Churchyard, France In the middle of September, 1915, 9th Sussex, part of 73 Brigade, 24th Division, were training for the forthcoming offensives at Loos at Rimboval, some distance behind the front line in France. On 18th September 2nd Lieutenant Sterart and eight men moved to the nearby village of Quilen to attend a bombing (grenade) course. The next day, 19th September, 1915, 2nd Liutenant Stewart was killed by an accidental explosion whilst on this course. |
